How To Start A ZOLT Charge Session

Get plugged in and powered up in under 60 seconds with our seamless flow.

01

Park & Power Down

Align your vehicle inside the designated ZOLT bay. Turn off the ignition and ensure the vehicle is in Park (P) mode.

02

Plug In Gun Securely

Select the dual CCS2 gun and plug it firmly into your vehicle's port until you hear the mechanical lock click into place.

03

Authenticate & Initiate

With Autocharge enabled, power delivery begins automatically. Alternatively, scan the QR code on the dispenser screen via the ZOLT App.

04

Monitor & Unplug

Track real-time power delivery on your lock screen. Once complete, stop the session in-app, wait for connector unlock, and replace the gun.

Common EV Charge Issues & Fixes

Quickly resolve unexpected dispenser handshakes, connector locks, or speed drops.

Hardware Handshake

Gun Locked or Won't Disengage

  • Vehicle lock active: Most EVs lock the connector until the vehicle doors are unlocked via the key fob. Unlock your car twice to release the connector solenoid.
  • Session still live: Ensure you have tapped "Stop Session" in the ZOLT App before attempting to pull the connector.
  • Emergency pin: If still held, locate your EV's mechanical manual release lever (typically inside the boot or behind the charging port flap).
Speed & Output

Charge Speed Slower Than Expected

  • Battery SOC tapering: High-speed DC charge is fastest between 10% and 80%. Beyond 80%, your vehicle's Battery Management System (BMS) intentionally slows power to protect battery health.
  • Battery temperature: Extreme heat or cold causes BMS thermal throttling. Drive gently before plugging in to keep thermal parameters optimal.
  • Dual gun sharing: If another vehicle connects to a paired dispenser on dynamic load balancing, power is dynamically distributed between both bays.
Software & Initiation

Session Fails To Start

  • Connector weight support: Heavy DC cables may misalign the pilot pin. Hold the connector firmly upward for 5 seconds after plugging in until communication establishes.
  • Emergency Stop pressed: Check if the physical red Emergency Stop button on the charger frame is depressed. If engaged accidentally, twist clockwise to release.
  • Wallet & balance: Ensure your ZOLT App wallet has sufficient pre-authorization balance or a valid default payment method selected.
Autocharge & Profile

Autocharge Not Recognizing EV

  • Initial manual session: Ensure you have completed at least one manual app-initiated charge session to bind your vehicle's identifier to your profile.
  • Vehicle MAC reset: Certain manufacturer software updates change the virtual MAC ID. Re-enroll your vehicle in the ZOLT App settings if recognition fails.
  • Fallback QR scan: If seamless handshake fails, scan the station QR code manually in the ZOLT App to start without delay.
Payments & Billing

Billing Discrepancy & Auto-Refunds

  • Pre-authorization hold: Any unused pre-authorization balance is released immediately upon session completion according to your bank's processing cycles.
  • Automated tax invoice: A GST-compliant digital tax invoice is automatically emailed to your registered address within seconds of completion.
  • Direct desk support: For deduction adjustments, email admin@zoltcharge.com quoting your Session ID.
Safety & Weather

Weather Isolation & Safety Trips

  • Water ingress protection: If moisture enters the vehicle inlet before connection, high-sensitivity isolation monitors may prevent energization until dry.
  • High-heat thermal throttling: Station cooling sensors automatically moderate power during extreme exterior temperatures to preserve equipment integrity.
  • Canopy shelter: ZOLT stations feature full weather canopies; ensure cables are neatly placed on holsters after charge to avoid rainwater pooling.
